| Funny you bring that up. Our sales guy just left for another job and they thought I'd be perfect to fill his shoes...kinda funny you said that. I actually ran a couple group buys with a couple vendors here before so I know how these things go. :-) The other thing you could have done was just skip the 5% or 10% discount level and just start at the 15% level with a minimum of 10 buyers or whatever you want the minimum to be. Then there is no commitment below 15% which I think is what scared some people off. 5% or 10% wasn't an option for anyone so don't even have a range for that. I would do it as "If we have 10, you get 15%. If we get 15, you get 20%. If we get 20, you get 25%." Just have those levels and skip the low ones that nobody cares about. Then if you get 7 or 8, then at least those people know they aren't on the hook for just a 5 or 10% discount...there's no commitment then. And the whole deposit thing never works either. So that probably scared people away believe it or not (even if only $25).
